The RC3 filters are mainly installed in door drives of the type QKS8 from the manufacturer Schindler Aufzüge. At the time of the development of these door drives, the mains voltage in Germany was still 220VAC with a tolerance of +/-22V. In the course of standardisation in the European network, the voltage was successively adjusted to a value of 230VAC. The increase took place in stages, and the tolerance range of 207VAC to 253VAC is now finally permitted. This inevitably led to greater interference pulses (high-voltage peaks) on the RC filter and thus to a higher risk of overloading the resistors and the possible danger of overheating and thus fire in the lift with all the possible consequences. Therefore, existing older revisions (RC3.QA/B/C/D) are no longer permitted and should be replaced.
